The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) condemn the killings and continued attacks on journalists. The IFJ calls for an immediate investigation into their deaths.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In such dangerous conditions, the IFJ reminds journalists on the ground to take precautions, wear professional safety equipment and not to travel without their media providing them with all the professional safety equipment needed to cover events. No story is worth the life of a journalist.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In the early hours of 7 October, Hamas launched an unprecedented attack in southern Israel. In response, Israel retaliated with airstrikes over the besieged Gaza Strip and formally declared war at Hamas<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>The IFJ is working closely with PJS to verify information in real time and document all killings. Check the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifj.org\/war-in-gaza\">list of journalists and media workers killed<\/a>\u00a0since the start of the war in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Journalists and media workers<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On 28 May,\u00a0<strong>Moataz\u00a0Mohammad Rajab<\/strong>, a journalist with Al-Quds Al-Youm TV who was reporting in Gaza city, was killed by an airstrike that hit a civilian car near him.<\/p>\n<p>On 25 May,\u00a0<strong>Hassan Majdi Abu Warda<\/strong>, Director of Barq Gaza News Agency, was killed on the morning in an Israeli airstrike that targeted his home in the Jabalia al-Nazla neighborhood in northern Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>On 17 May, freelance photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Aziz Al-Hajjar<\/strong>\u00a0was killed, along with his wife and children in Beit Al-Naaja, northern Gaza. On the same day, journalist\u00a0<strong>Abdul Rahman Tawfiq Al-Abadla<\/strong>, who worked as a freelance reporter and photographer, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Al-Qarara, southern Gaza, the PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pjs.ps\/en\/page-3334.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawKYC75leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETBZSWcyZ2FJeWM4RlVKZHZhAR7refjrkAuxd_D4qyVd53z_a9ptGIeH8O-calNyAfW9tKcU6tGHxMVsgmZI4A_aem_oM48c7AeE6yyaXh8Al_I-A\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 15 May, journalist\u00a0<strong>Hassan Sammour<\/strong>, who worked for Al Aqsa Voice Radio,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.com.tr\/en\/middle-east\/another-palestinian-journalist-killed-in-israeli-strike-in-gaza-death-toll-rises-to-216\/3568787\">was kllled<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli airstrike in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. On the same day, journalist\u00a0<strong>Ahmed al-Helou,<\/strong>\u00a0from Quds News Network,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/qudsnen.co\/quds-news-network-journalist-killed-in-israeli-attack-on-gazas-khan-younis\/\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli attack in Khan Yunis. The PJS confirmed both killings.<\/p>\n<p>On 13 May, journalist\u00a0<strong>Hassan Aslih\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=727916239569579&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli bombing at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. Aslih, head of the Alam24 news outlet, had been at the hospital for treatment after being wounded in an Israeli strike that hit a media workers&#8217; tent on 7 April.<\/p>\n<p>On 7 May, the PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pjs.ps\/ar\/page-3322.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawKJQIFleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHm87ZixggJYAMjxwX_OXAodtxrAD6qUE3QejvEXnLKSQLsNAQPcWcBrk1Aff_aem_2LdQm6ZcHUoW_HHXdy8aHQ\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the killing of journalist\u00a0<strong>Yahya Subaih,\u00a0<\/strong>who lost his life as a result of an Israeli bombing in western Gaza City, and journalist\u00a0<strong>Nour El-Din Abdo<\/strong>, who died when an Israeli bombing targeted the Al-Karama School in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, in eastern Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>On 16 April, freelance photojournalist and PJS member,\u00a0<strong>Fatima Hassona<\/strong>, lost her life in an Israeli bombardment that hit her home in Gaza City.<\/p>\n<p>On 8 April, the PJS and media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=702438808783989&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">reported<\/a>\u00a0that journalist\u00a0<strong>Ahmed Mansour<\/strong>,\u00a0who worked for Palestine Today, succumbed to his injuries and severe burns, one day after an Israeli airstrike hit a media workers&#8217; tent in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>On 7 April, journalist\u00a0<strong>Hilmi Al Faqawi<\/strong>, who worked for Palestine TV, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a media workers&#8217; tent, located next to Al Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>On 24 March, journalist\u00a0<strong>Hossam Shabat<\/strong>, who worked as a contributor for Al Jazeera Mubasher, was killed when an Israeli airstrike hit his car in Jabalia refugee camp, northern Gaza, his employer\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/aljazeera.net\/news\/2025\/3\/24\/%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B4%D9%87%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B5%D8%AD%D9%81%D9%8A-%D8%AD%D8%B3%D8%A7%D9%85-%D8%B4%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%AA%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%88%D9%86-%D9%85%D8%B9\">reported<\/a>. The PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/story.php?story_fbid=691184016576135&amp;id=100070536272920&amp;rdid=UdcAH2RANYkWil9P\">mourned<\/a>\u00a0the deaths of\u00a0Hossam Shabatand\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Mansour<\/strong>, a journalist from Palestine Today who lost his life when his apartment in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, was hit.<\/p>\n<p>Just as it appeared that Israel and Hamas were on the verge of reaching a ceasefire agreement on 15 January, three Palestinian journalists were killed in separate attacks in Gaza. On 15 January, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=643389358022268&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">mourned<\/a>\u00a0the killing of journalist\u00a0<strong>Aql Hussein Saleh<\/strong>, who lost his life as a result of an Israeli attack in Al-Shati Camp, west of Gaza City. On the same day, Al Ghad TV channel\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1055702893264435&amp;set=a.607681404733255\">reported<\/a>\u00a0the killing of journalist<strong>\u00a0Ahmed Hesham Abu Al-Rous<\/strong>\u00a0in an Israeli airstrike in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Freelance journalist\u00a0<strong>Ahmed Al-Shayyah<\/strong>, who worked for several media outlets, was killed in an Israeli bombardment in western Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>On 10 January, the PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=640098245018046&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">reported<\/a>\u00a0the killing of journalist\u00a0<strong>Saed Abu Nabhan<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>who worked for Alghad TV and was a freelance photographer for Anadolu Agency. He was killed by an Israeli sniper, while the journalist was working in central Gaza&#8217;s Nuseirat area.<\/p>\n<p>On 3 January 2025, journalist\u00a0<strong>Omar Al-Derawi\u00a0<\/strong>was\u00a0killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit his family\u2019s home in Al-Zawaida, the central Gaza Strip, PJS and media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=635297718831432&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 26 December, five journalists working for the satellite channel Al-Quds Today\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pjs.ps\/en\/page-3257.html\">were killed<\/a>\u00a0when an Israeli missile targeted the broadcasting vehicle, marked as press, they were in front of Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza. The names of the killed journalists were\u00a0<strong>Fadi Hassouna,\u00a0Ibrahim Al-Sheikh Ali,\u00a0Mohammed Al-Ladda,\u00a0Faisal Abu Al-Qumsan<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0Ayman Al-Jadi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Al Jazeera cameraman\u00a0<strong>Ahmed al-Louh<\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2024\/12\/15\/palestinian-journalist-gaza-civil-defense-workers-killed-in-israeli-strike\">killed<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli airstrike on central Gaza\u2019s Nuseirat camp<\/p>\n<p>On 15 December Al Jazeera cameraman\u00a0<strong>Ahmed al-Louh<\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2024\/12\/15\/palestinian-journalist-gaza-civil-defense-workers-killed-in-israeli-strike\">killed<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli airstrike on central Gaza\u2019s Nuseirat camp.<\/p>\n<p>On 14 December, journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Jaber Al-Qerinawi<\/strong>, an editor at Sanad News Agency,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maannews.net\/news\/2130633.html\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli aistrike that targeted his home in Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip<\/p>\n<p>On 14 December journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Baalousha<\/strong>\u00a0who worked for Dubai Al Mashhad television was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/seven-killed-israeli-strike-gaza-school-palestinian-emergency-service-says-2024-12-14\/\">killed<\/a>\u00a0in an airstrike in Gaza City.<\/p>\n<p>On 11 December, journalist and broadcaster at Voice of Al-Aqsa Radio,\u00a0<strong>Eman El-Shanti<\/strong>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=620037857024085&amp;set=pcb.620039230357281\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli airstrike that hit an apartment in Al-Malash Tower in Sheikh Radwan, northwestern Gaza City. The strike also killed El-Shanti&#8217;s husband and their three children.<\/p>\n<p>On 2 December, Quds News Network\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.net\/news\/2024\/12\/1\/192-%d8%b5%d8%ad%d9%81%d9%8a%d8%a7-%d8%b4%d9%87%d9%8a%d8%af%d8%a7-%d9%81%d9%8a-%d8%ba%d8%b2%d8%a9-%d9%85%d9%86%d8%b0-%d8%a8%d8%af%d8%a1-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%ad%d8%b1%d8%a8\">reported<\/a>\u00a0the killing of one of its employees, journalist\u00a0<strong>Maysara Salah<\/strong>, who was injured near Awni Al-Harthani School in northern Gaza and died at Kamal Adwan Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>On 30 November, journalist\u00a0<strong>Mamdouh Quneita<\/strong>, who worked for Al Aqsa TV,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.royanews.tv\/news\/55881\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0when an Israeli drone shot at him in the courtyard of Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=612980864396451&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 19 November, freelance photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Ahmed Abu Shariya<\/strong>, who worked for Tasnim Agency, was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Sabra neighbourhood in southern Gaza, media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/151762\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 16 November, journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Saleh Al-Sharif\u00a0<\/strong>lost his life when an Israeli drone shot at him near Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza Strip,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=603607065333831&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">PJS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/israeli-forces-kill-gaza-journalist-drone-attack\">media<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 1 November, photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Bilal Muhammad Rajab,\u00a0<\/strong>who worked for Al-Quds Al-Youm channel,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.echoroukonline.com\/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%AD%D8%AA%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%84-%D9%8A%D8%BA%D8%AA%D8%A7%D9%84-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B5%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%81%D9%8A-%D8%A8%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%84-%D9%85%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%AF-%D8%B1%D8%AC%D8%A8\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0in an attack by an Israeli drone near the Firas market in Gaza City, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=593368713024333&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">PJS<\/a>\u00a0and media.<\/p>\n<p>On 27 October, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pjs.ps\/ar\/page-3222.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawGMTX5leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHdd6CG-S73Mx8X_sArL-MyVlpml26dRtBuVhgp1pwrKU0uO7e8thfP-dOQ_aem_0rib0XYEIZcwXfpmarRQLw\">reported<\/a>\u00a0the killing of\u00a0<strong>Saed Radwan<\/strong>, head of the digital media department at Al-Aqsa TV;\u00a0<strong>Hamza Abu Salmiya<\/strong>, journalist at Sand News Agency; and\u00a0<strong>Haneen Mahmoud Baroud<\/strong>, journalist at the Al Quds Foundation. They lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike that hit Asmaa &#8216;B&#8217; School in Al-Shati refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>On 9 October, local media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.com.tr\/en\/middle-east\/1-more-journalist-killed-2-injured-as-israel-deliberately-targets-2-separate-media-crew-in-northern-gaza\/3356922\">reported<\/a>\u00a0the killing of photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Al Tanani<\/strong>, who worked for Al Aqsa TV, by Israeli airstrikes in the area of Jabalia, northern Gaza.\u00a0In the same bombardment, reporter Tamer Lubbad, also working for Al Aqsa TV, was injured. Al Jazeera&#8217;s cameraman Fadi Al-Wahidi was wounded by Israeli gunfire while reporting the situation in northern Gaza, the media network\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/program\/newsfeed\/2024\/10\/9\/al-jazeera-cameraman-injured-by-israeli-gunfire\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 6 October, freelance journalist\u00a0<strong>Hassan Hamad\u00a0<\/strong>was killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit his home in Jabalia refugee camp, northern Gaza. Al Jazeera reported\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2024\/10\/6\/palestinian-journalist-19-killed-in-israeli-raid-after-receiving-threats\">Hamad&#8217;s killing<\/a>\u00a0and stated that the journalist was warned by an Israeli officer to stop filming in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>On 30 September, woman journalist\u00a0<strong>Wafa Aludaini<\/strong>, along with her husband and two children,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palestinechronicle.com\/palestinian-journalist-wafa-aludaini-killed-in-gaza-in-death-her-voice-lives-video\/\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli airstrike in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza, according to media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palestinechronicle.com\/palestinian-journalist-wafa-aludaini-killed-in-gaza-in-death-her-voice-lives-video\/\">reports<\/a>. Aludaini was the founder of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/16october.com\/about-us\/#:~:text=The%20Gaza-based%2016th%20October%20Group%20is%20a%20group%20of\">October 16th Media Group<\/a>\u00a0and worked there as a senior journalist.<\/p>\n<p>On 28 August, journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Abed Rabbo<\/strong>\u00a0of Al-Manara Media Production Company was killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit his apartment in central Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>On 26 August, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pjs.ps\/ar\/page-3180.html\">reported<\/a>\u00a0the death of 39-year-old journalist\u00a0<strong>Ali Taima<\/strong>, a cameraman for Al-Awda TV channel, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis.<\/p>\n<p>On 22 August, Al Quds TV photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Hossam Manal Al-Dabbaka<\/strong>\u00a0was killed with his wife, children and other family members when their apartment was hit by an Israeli strike in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.royanews.tv\/news\/53700\">media<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 20 August, journalist\u00a0<strong>Hamza Murtaja<\/strong>\u00a0was killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit Mustafa Hafez School, in western Gaza City,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=542629458098259&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">PJS<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 18 August, freelance photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Ibrahim Muhareb<\/strong>, who worked for a number of media, was killed due to Israeli gunfire and shelling in western Khan Yunis when the Israeli tanks entered the city in southern Gaza,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=541821901512348&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">PJS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/liveblog\/2024\/8\/19\/israels-war-on-gaza-live-israeli-forces-invade-khan-younis-deir-el-balah\">media<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 9 August, journalist\u00a0<strong>Tamim Muammar<\/strong>,\u00a0who worked for the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation &#8211; Voice of Palestine, and journalist\u00a0<strong>Abdullah Al-Sousi<\/strong>, who worked for Al Aqsa TV, were killed in two different Israeli airstrikes in Khan Yunis, southern of the Gaza Strip,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pjs.ps\/ar\/page-3170.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawEms2lleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHdcaJwFHyAMhGJ_fzWPyWry4VJPS0kQZOtag2WKRHZjvsMaflzRboOG4hA_aem_FLFZJwiysq4zATuXeJa-PQ\">PJS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/gaza-journalist-tamim-muammar-killed-israeli-air-strike\">media<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 31 July, journalist<strong>\u00a0Ismail al-Ghoul\u00a0<\/strong>and cameraman\u00a0<strong>Rami al-Refee<\/strong>, who worked for Al Jazeera Arabic,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2024\/7\/31\/al-jazeera-journalist-cameraman-killed-in-gaza-attack#:~:text=Al%20Jazeera%20Arabic%20journalist%20Ismail%20al%2DGhoul%20and%20his%20cameraman,City%2C%20according%20to%20initial%20information\">were killed<\/a>\u00a0in an Israeli air attack in Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=530398275988044&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 29 July, the PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=529166332777905&amp;set=a.211639701197238\">reported<\/a>\u00a0the killing of journalist of\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Majid Abu Daqa<\/strong>\u00a0in an Israeli strike in Khan Yunis, southern of the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>On 13 July, journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Manhal Abu Armanah,\u00a0<\/strong>was killed in an Israeli strike that hit tents of displaced people in Khan Yunis, southern of the Gaza Strip, Al Mayadeen\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.almayadeen.net\/latestnews\/2024\/7\/13\/%D9%81%D9%84%D8%B3%D8%B7%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%AD%D8%AA%D9%84%D8%A9--%D9%85%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%B3%D9%84-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%8A%D9%86--%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B4%D9%87%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B5%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%81%D9%8A-%D9%85%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%AF-%D9%85%D9%86%D9%87%D9%84-%D8%A3%D8%A8\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 6 July, the couple formed by Palestine Now news agency correspondent,\u00a0<strong>Amjad Al-Jahjouh,\u00a0<\/strong>and programme producer and presenter at the Islamic University radio station,\u00a0<strong>Wafa Abu Dabaan<\/strong>, were killed in an Israeli strike\u00a0in the Nuseirat refugee camp\u00a0in the middle of the Gaza Strip. On the same day, journalist and editor at the Palestine Media Agency,\u00a0<strong>Rizq Abu Shakyan<\/strong>, was killed in an Israeli strike that hit his home in the\u00a0Nuseirat refugee camp, according to PJS and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2024\/7\/6\/five-journalists-killed-as-israel-steps-up-bombardment-across-gaza\">media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 5 July,\u00a0director of Deep Shot Media production company,\u00a0<strong>Saadi Madoukh<\/strong>, and journalist\u00a0<strong>Adeeb Sukkar<\/strong>, who worked for the same media, were\u00a0killed in an Israeli strike\u00a0in the Daraj neighbourhood of Gaza City. On the same day, media director of Al Quds TV,\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Al Sakni<\/strong>, was killed when a strike hit his home in Al-Tuffah neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, PJS reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 1 July, editor-in-chief of local news agency Shams,\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Abu Sharia<\/strong>, succumbed to his injuries sustained from an Israeli missile launched near the journalist&#8217;s home in Gaza City.<\/p>\n<p>On 31 May, journalist and presenter of local radio Watan,\u00a0<strong>Ola al-Dahdouh,\u00a0<\/strong>was killed in an Israeli bombing of her home\u00a0on Al-Jalaa Street in central Gaza City, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=494574892903716&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 17 May, photojournalist working for the local Palestine Post Network,\u00a0<strong>Mahmoud Jahjouh,\u00a0<\/strong>was killed along with his family in an Israeli airstrike that hit his home in Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood in Gaza city, according to PJS, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ppost.ps\/post\/8519\/%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B4%D9%87%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B2%D9%85%D9%8A%D9%84-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B5%D8%AD%D9%81%D9%8A-%D9%85%D8%AD%D9%85%D9%88%D8%AF-%D8%AC%D8%AD\">Palestine Post Network<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/israeli-kills-gaza-journalist-mahmoud-juhjouh-and-family\">other media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 15 May,\u00a0<strong>Hael Al-Najjar<\/strong>, media worker for Al Aqsa Media Network was killed in an Israeli strike that hit his house on the Old Gaza Street in Jabalia refugee camp, PJS and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.arabnews.com\/node\/2512136\/amp\">media<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/44415851@N02\/4286908427\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 11 May, photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Baha Akasha<\/strong>, who worked for Al Aqsa Media Network, was killed in an Israeli strike on his house in Al-Qasasib neighbourhood in Jabalia refugee camp, northern Gaza, according to PJS and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZMPweaagAXA\">several<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maannews.net\/news\/2117148.html\">media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 6 May, freelance photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Mustafa Ayyad<\/strong>, who worked for Al Jazeera Live, was killed after being critically injured in an Israeli strike on his home in the Zeitun neighbourhood, northern Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeeramubasher.net\/news\/politics\/2024\/5\/6\/%D8%B9%D9%85%D9%84-%D9%85%D8%B5%D9%88%D8%B1%D8%A7-%D8%AD%D8%B1%D8%A7-%D9%84%D9%84%D8%AC%D8%B2%D9%8A%D8%B1%D8%A9-%D9%85%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B4%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B4%D9%87%D8%A7%D8%AF\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 25 April,\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Basam Al Jamal<\/strong>, who worked as a correspondent for Palestine Now news agency,\u00a0succumbed to his injuries\u00a0following an Israeli airstrike that hit his home in Al-Jenenah neighbourhood in Rafah, in southern Gaza,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pjs.ps\/?p=3103\">PJS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.skeyesmedia.org\/ar\/News\/News\/26-04-2024\/11581\">media<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 28 March, editor and graphic designer\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Abu Sakhil,\u00a0<\/strong>who worked for Shams News Agency, was killed during Israel&#8217;s military raid on Al-Shifa hospital and surrounding areas in Gaza City that lasted for two weeks, Shams News Agency\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/shms.ps\/post\/188378\/%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B4%D9%87%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%A4%D9%88%D9%84-%D9%82%D8%B3%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%88%D9%86%D8%AA%D8%A7%D8%AC-%D9%81%D9%8A-%D9%85%D8%A4%D8%B3%D8%B3%D8%A9-%D8%B4%D9%85%D8%B3-%D9%86%D9%8A%D9%88%D8%B2-%D9%85%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%AF-%D8%A3%D8%A8%D9%88-%D8%B3%D8%AE%D9%8A%D9%84-%D8%AE%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%84-%D9%85%D8%B0%D8%A8%D8%AD%D8%A9-%D9%85%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B4%D9%81%D9%89-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D9%81%D8%A7%D8%A1-%D8%BA%D8%B1%D8%A8-%D8%BA%D8%B2%D8%A9\">reported<\/a>. In the same raid on Al-Shifa hospital, digital media editor for Voice of Al-Quds radio,\u00a0<strong>Tariq al-Sayed Abu Shakil<\/strong>,\u00a0 lost his life on 28 March, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shireen.ps\/martyrs\/show\/202400281\">media reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 25 March, media worker at WAFA news agency,\u00a0<strong>Saher Akram Rayyan,\u00a0<\/strong>was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City, media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/142713\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 15 March, photographer and producer\u00a0<strong>Abdel Rahman Saima,\u00a0<\/strong>who worked for Raqmi TV, was killed in an Israeli bombing in Gaza City. On the same day, photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammed al-Rifi\u00a0<\/strong>succumbed to his injuries in southern Gaza City, PJS reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 5 March, journalist and presenter at Al Aqsa TV,\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Khader Ahmad Salama<\/strong>, was killed in an Israeli airstrike that hit his home in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=443836447977561&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 1 March, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/story.php?story_fbid=441957898165416&amp;id=100070536272920&amp;mibextid=WC7FNe\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the death of journalist\u00a0<strong>Ibrahim Mahamid<\/strong>, who died of his wounds five months after being injured by Israeli fire. Mahamid worked as a presenter and cameraman for Al-Salam TV, Al-Shaab TV and other local channels, and was a member of PJS for about 30 years, the Syndicate reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 23 February, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=437991555228717&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the killing of photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Yaghi<\/strong>\u00a0in an Israel bombing near Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip. According to Al Jazeera, Yaghi\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.net\/politics\/2024\/2\/24\/%d9%83%d8%a7%d9%85%d9%8a%d8%b1%d8%a7-%d9%88%d9%82%d9%85%d9%8a%d8%b5-%d9%83%d9%84-%d9%85%d8%a7-%d8%aa%d8%a8%d9%82%d9%89-%d9%85%d9%86-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%b5%d8%ad%d9%81%d9%8a\">worked<\/a>\u00a0as a professional photographer for a number of international media, including Al Jazeera Network.<\/p>\n<p>On 12 February, journalist\u00a0<strong>Alaa al-Hams<\/strong>, who worked for local media,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>died of her wounds, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=431542015873671&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">PJS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.com.tr\/en\/middle-east\/2-more-journalists-killed-in-israeli-attacks-in-gaza-bringing-toll-to-126-since-oct-7\/3135136\">media<\/a>. Al-Hams was seriously injured two weeks ago, when an Israeli bombing hit her home in al-Geneina neighbourhood in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip. On the same day, journalist\u00a0<strong>Angham Ahmed Adwan<\/strong>, who worked for Libyan TV channel February, was killed following an Israeli airstrike that hit her home in Jabalia city.<\/p>\n<p>On 8 February, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=428909146136958&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the killing of Palestine TV&#8217;s director\u00a0<strong>Nafez Abdel Jawad\u00a0<\/strong>and his son. On the same day, journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Bayyari<\/strong>, who worked for Al Aqsa TV, was killed.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day,\u00a0<strong>Iyad Matar<\/strong>, who worked as an administrative staff for Al Aqsa TV,\u00a0was killed in an Israeli bombardment that hit his home on the Gaza Strip, media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/royanews.tv\/news\/312560\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 1 November, PJS<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=375387644822442&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">\u00a0confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the killing of journalist\u00a0<strong>Majd Fadl Arandas<\/strong><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>who\u00a0worked for the news website Al-Jamahir, during a bombing near his house in the Nuseirat camp,\u00a0in the Deir al-Balah Governorate.<\/p>\n<p>On 31 October, Palestine TV\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PalestineTV\/posts\/pfbid036phn76WXoN4bDiFepfhsRnYm6Be4237bWtP1jL5bbFq7v1xNwJbeX9a3nzWMQf1ql\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the death of two media workers,\u00a0<strong>Majd Kashkou<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Imad Wahidi<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>in an Israeli airstrike over Gaza city.<\/p>\n<p>On 30 October, PJS and WAFA news agency\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/138805\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the death of\u00a0<strong>Nazmi Al-Nadim<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/english.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/138805\">,<\/a>\u00a0deputy director of finance and administration\u00a0for\u00a0Palestine TV. Al-Nadim\u00a0was killed when an Israeli warplane bombed his house in\u00a0Zeitun neighbourhood in Gaza city.<\/p>\n<p>On 27 October,\u00a0<strong>Yasser Abu Namous<\/strong>, who worked for Al Sahel media, was killed during Israeli airstrike that hit his house in eastern Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, PJS and WAFA news agency\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/82844\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 26 October, PJS and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/82744\">WAFA news agency<\/a>\u00a0confirmed the death of journalist\u00a0<strong>Duaa Sharaf<\/strong>, who worked at Al Aqsa Radio,\u00a0in a missile attack that struk her home in\u00a0the Al-Zawaida neighborhood, central Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, PJS confirmed the killing of media worker\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Fayez Al Hassani<\/strong>, director general of Rawasi, who lost his life in an Israeli airstrike that hit his home in the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>On 25 October, journalist\u00a0<strong>Jamal Al-Faqawi<\/strong>, who worked at Mithaq Media Network,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maannews.net\/news\/2104209.html\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0when an Israeli bombardment hit his home in the city of Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>On 25 October, PJS confirmed the death of three journalists\u00a0<strong>Saed Al-Halabi<\/strong>,\u00a0who worked for Al Aqsa TV, that was killed when his home in Jabalia, in the north of the Gaza Strip, was targeted.\u00a0<strong>Ahmed Abu Mahadi<\/strong><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>who worked for Al Aqsa TV, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip, PJS reported. On the same day, journalist\u00a0<strong>Salma Mukhaimar<\/strong>\u00a0was killed in an air strike in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PALESTINIANJOURNALISTSSYNDICATE\/posts\/pfbid02bn2UML8XjSUg961v2TNvU1dBc8L5UPFfg72MzunnAGbio63ZAYeFY25SLbjEyYQxl\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, journalist\u00a0<strong>Zaher Al Afghani<\/strong>, who worked for Mithaq Media Network, was killed when an airstrike hit his home in Deir Al Balah.<\/p>\n<p>On 23 October, Palestinian news agency WAFA and PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/138587\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the death of journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Imad Labad<\/strong>, who worked for Al Resalah news website, following an Israeli bombing close to his house in Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood in Gaza city.<\/p>\n<p>On 22 October,\u00a0<strong>Roshdi Sarraj<\/strong>, co-founder of Ain Media, photojournalist, film-maker and fixer for several international media, including Radio France, was killed in an Israeli air raid that hit his home, western Gaza city,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=369979938696546&amp;set=a.211639694530572\">PJS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/liveblog\/2023\/10\/21\/israel-gaza-war-hamas-and-israel-spar-over-hostage-release\">media<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 21 October,\u00a0<strong>Hani Madhoun<\/strong>, who worked as an administrative staff for Al Aqsa TV, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his home in Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>On 20 October, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=368799695481237&amp;set=a.211639701197238\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the death of\u00a0<strong>Muhammad Abu Ali<\/strong>, a journalist with Al-Shabab radio in Gaza, who was killed by Israeli shelling of his home in the northern Gaza strip.<\/p>\n<p>On 19 October,\u00a0<strong>Khalil Abu Athra<\/strong>, cameraman for Al-Aqsa TV,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.almayadeen.net\/latestnews\/2023\/10\/19\/%D9%81%D9%84%D8%B3%D8%B7%D9%8A%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%AD%D8%AA%D9%84%D8%A9--%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AA%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%A1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B2%D9%85%D9%8A%D9%84-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B5%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%81%D9%8A-%D8%AE%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%84-%D8%A3%D8%A8%D9%88-%D8%B9%D8%A7%D8%B0%D8%B1%D8%A9-%D9%85%D8%B5%D9%88%D8%B1-%D9%81%D8%B6\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0in the Al-Nasr neighborhood, north of Rafah.<\/p>\n<p>On 18 October\u00a0Al-Aqsa TV producer and director\u00a0<strong>Samih Al-Nadi<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=367985045562702&amp;set=a.211639701197238\">was killed<\/a>\u00a0in an aircraft bombing on the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>On 17 October, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.almayadeen.net\/latestnews\/2023\/10\/16\/palestinian-al-aqsa-tv-journalist-isam-bahar-his-wife-and-mu\">reported<\/a>\u00a0the killing of\u00a0Al Aqsa TV journalist\u00a0<strong>Isam Bahar<\/strong>, following the bombing of his house in Gaza city.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, Palestine TV journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Balousha<\/strong>\u00a0was killed in his apartment due to bombings in Gaza city. PJS and media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aa.com.tr\/en\/middle-east\/another-palestinian-journalist-killed-in-israeli-airstrike-on-gaza\/3022646\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0his death.<\/p>\n<p>On 16 October, a bombardment hit the house of Al Aqsa TV journalist\u00a0<strong>Abdul Hadi Habib<\/strong>\u00a0in the Zeitun neighbourhood in Gaza city. PJS and media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/imemc.org\/article\/ongoing-israeli-attacks-kill-dozens-of-palestinian-civilians-in-gaza\/\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0his death.<\/p>\n<p>On 14 October, freelance journalist\u00a0<strong>Yousef Dawwas\u00a0<\/strong>was killed together with his family in an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EuroMedHRAr\/status\/1713211124483526972\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On 13 October, PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifj.org\/fileadmin\/user_upload\/PJS_statement_16th_16.10.2023.pdf\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the killing of journalist\u00a0<strong>Hossam Mubarak<\/strong>, working for Al AqsaTV, when an Israeli shelling hit his home in northern Gaza city.<\/p>\n<p>On 12 October, producer of Voice of Prisoners Radio\u00a0<strong>Ahmed Shehab\u00a0<\/strong>was killed alongside with his family members when an Israeli airstrike struk his house in Jabalia refugee camp, in the northern Gaza Strip, PJS reported.<\/p>\n<p>On 11 October, the PJS\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=866279388245667&amp;set=a.197574625116150\">confirmed<\/a>\u00a0the death of freelance photographer\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Fayez Yousef Abu Matar<\/strong>, 28, following Israeli bombings on Rafah governorate, southern Gaza Strip. According to the state-run news agency\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/138142\">WAFA<\/a>, Abu Matar was a freelance photographer covering the ongoing military operations when he was killed.<\/p>\n<p>On 10 October, the PJS said in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifj.org\/fileadmin\/user_upload\/PJS_statement_october_10th_2023_231010_113003.pdf\">statement<\/a>\u00a0that three Palestinian journalists\u00a0<strong>Said Al-Tawil,\u00a0<\/strong>director of Al-Khamisa news agency and photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammed Sobboh\u00a0<\/strong>and photographer\u00a0<strong>Hisham Al-Nawahjh<\/strong>, both worked\u00a0for Khabar news agency, were killed by an Israeli airstrike that hit a residential building near Gaza City&#8217;s fishing port. The Hamas-run government said that the three reporters were covering the evacuation of a residential building nearby, when the missile struck, AFP\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrons.com\/news\/three-palestinian-journalists-killed-in-israel-gaza-strike-media-union-7a3299b6\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day,\u00a0<strong>Salam Meimah<\/strong>, who worked for Al Quds Radio, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on her home in Jabalia refugee camp, northern Gaza strip. Her body was recovered from the rubber three days later.<\/p>\n<p>On 8 October, freelance journalist\u00a0<strong>Asaad Shamlakh<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>was killed with his family in an Israeli airstrike on his home in\u00a0Sheikh Ejline neighborhood in Gaza city, PJS and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/arabic\/articles\/cmlrvengk39o\">BBC Arabic<\/a>\u00a0confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>On 7 October, Palestinian photojournalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Al-Salhi<\/strong>, working for news agency Fourth Authority was shot dead while covering the military operations at the border east of Palestinian refugee camp Al-Bureij, located in the central Gaza Strip, according to the state-run news agency\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/137963\">WAFA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ibrahim Lafi<\/strong>\u00a0from Ain Media news agency was killed while reporting near Beit Hanoun checkpoint, close to the separation fence with Israel, in the northern Gaza Strip, the media\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Palestine\/comments\/172akg8\/gazan_journalist_yara_eid_reacts_to_news_that_her\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, journalist\u00a0<strong>Mohammad Jarghoun<\/strong>, working for Smart Media, a media production company in Gaza, was killed while covering the fight between Hamas and the Israeli army, close to Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p><em>*\u00a0The IFJ is working hard to keep this list up-to-date and accurate, seeking\u00a0multiple sources for each name added, and concentrating on those\u00a0who worked as journalists and media workers. Our intention is to list every journalist and media worker who has lost their life during the war. Both professionals were covering the fights close to the separation fence with Israel, near Beit Hanoun checkpoint. The next day, Al-Wahidi\u2019s family\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rb2000.ps\/news\/445679.html\">informed<\/a>\u00a0the media that the journalist had been arrested by the Israeli army.<\/p>\n<p>On 7 October, in the southern Gaza Strip<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0correspondent for Al-Ghad TV channel,\u00a0<strong>Ibrahim Qanan<\/strong>, was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sarah_Hassan94\/status\/1710732918115467511\">injured<\/a>\u00a0in the leg by a missile strike\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/english.wafa.ps\/Pages\/Details\/137971\">targeted<\/a>\u00a0at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis city.
